It’s always hard going along to a group for the first time, especially if you’re on your own, but don’t worry, you will be among friends who have been through similar experiences and, therefore, will understand.

Tonight’s meeting at Beardwood Hospital was a busy one. We held our AGM and shared our events calendar before celebrating Ruth’s hard work managing the support group over many years. Ruth has decided to take a step back and has handed the reins over to Michelle and Maggie, although she will remain on the committee. She has put her heart and soul into the group so we thought we’d present her with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.

The group will continue to meet the first Tuesday of each month (except January) at 7pm in the dining room at Beardwood Hospital. We have an exciting calendar for 2025 and we welcome any new members. If you need further information, please get in touch.

We have a friendly exercise group – the Monday Movers.

We meet at East Lancashire Hospice on Monday evenings, 7pm - approx 8.30pm (£1.50) except for when we meet at Beardwood on the following Tuesday.

We start with some dancercize, followed by circuits and finish with tai chi. You can be as active as you want. Afterwards, we go to the cafe for a brew and a chat. Have a look at some of our ladies in action.
